The following campaign radio commercials are currently running on 92Q Jams (WERQ-FM).

   

Big Bro to Little Bro

This ad provides a prevention message targeted to youth who are currently attending, but may need some encouragement, to stay in school. Many Baltimore youth have physically or emotionally absent parents, so older siblings must often step into the gap and provide guidance and support in the family. The spot also shows that older youth who may have dropped out of school the first time around can “recover” and get assistance to complete their educations.The setting is a bedroom. The older brother, Jason, is trying to get his younger brother Marcus, a high school student, to understand the importance of going to school.

Big Sis to Little Sis

Teen On The Street

A Baltimore teen reporter interviews other teens on the street to find out if and why they go to school. He ultimately finds out that they have good reasons for why they do go to school. He asks the teen audience if they know what they want to do and why. This ad also shows the value of education and that many youth are aware that school is the answer; others may just need the motivation and inspiration to also go back.

Wanna Be With You

This ad shows a strong retention message (with recovery from truancy). Research has shown that Baltimore youth respond highly to peer-to-peer communication, and will actually listen to their boyfriend or girlfriend. The spot promotes education as a way to a better life; the only way to ensure that you can take care of yourself and your family is to finish school.James, an 18-year-old male has been in and out of jail ever since he dropped out of school in the seventh-grade. He has been dating a 16-year-old female (Desiree), who is thinking about dropping out of school.
