Target Audience:
Low-to-Middle Income African Americans and Latinos/as, Gay White Men or Men Who Have Sex With Men (MSMs)

Cities:
Miami; Jackson, MS; Houston; New Orleans and Philadelphia

Project Description:
MEE has been selected by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to develop a campaign to promote HIV testing in five cities across the country. The Know Now! Campaign represents MEE's first significant "8a" contract. It serves inner city and rural southern populations, targeting traditionally difficult-to-reach individuals who are significantly at-risk for contracting HIV. They include low-to-middle income African Americans and Latinos/as, and men who have sex with men (MSMs). There are many barriers to overcome in encouraging people to get tested for HIV, including fear, denial and apathy. Yet MEE has met the challenge of creating and disseminating persuasive messages that work using a series of radio advertisements and collateral print materials (transit ads, posters, brochures, etc.)
