Offering service providers the communications tools for
success is the focus of MEE’s workshops. We conduct
technical assistance and communications workshops across
the country, focusing on the most effective ways to reach
and influence urban and ethnic audiences. Workshops focus
on understanding urban culture, exploring the media’s
direct and indirect influences on decision-making, and developing
effective and culturally-relevant communication strategies.
Each interactive, solutions-oriented workshop
offers real-world strategies for providing community outreach,
communications and services. On top of indispensable insight
and information, every attendee receives a comprehensive
resource packet that includes a curriculum, videos, PSAs,
research reports and more. These workshops serve as a primary
way of sharing MEE’s research findings with education,
health and social service providers, community-based organizations
and others. They also allow us to continue our work of community
capacity-building on a national scale, as attendees return
to their home communities with new knowledge and a fresh
perspective on outreach to urban populations.
