Whether targeted to the public or private sector, MEE
campaigns consistently generate positive word-of-mouth.
Communities take long-term ownership of MEE campaign messages,
even after the campaign has ended. A mix of traditional
and non-traditional approaches ensure cost-effective and
culturally relevant marketing strategies for our clients.
In addition to using traditional media in print publications,
or on radio or television stations, MEE takes its messages
straight to the streets. Our “outside the box”
message dissemination strategies, including peer-to-peer
communications and community action/street teams, allow
us to craft messages in a language and style that might
otherwise be restricted.
We have developed and implemented many culturally-appropriate
public education and social marketing campaigns, targeting
a cross section of audiences. Campaigns have addressed even
the most complex issues, such as:
Sexual and reproductive health;
- HIV/AIDS prevention, testing and counseling, and treatment;
- Safe sex and prevention of teen pregnancy and sexually-transmitted
diseases;
- School truancy and dropouts;
- Male/female interpersonal dynamics;
- Early literacy;
- Physical activity and nutrition;
- Effective and culturally-relevant parenting;
- Violence involving youth, including dating/intimate,
gun and juvenile violence; and
- Substance abuse, including marijuana, tobacco and alcohol.
