Get Involved with “Connect 2 Protect” to create a sense of urgency and community among families and friends of loved ones impacted by substance use disorders, along with local influencers like trusted retailers, community-based organizations and faith-based institutions in neighborhoods across Allegheny County. As you learn more about “Connect 2 Protect,” engage with the Campaign and share your knowledge and insights about the treatment and recovery journey with other supporters, chosen and biological families. Our campaign partners include a growing roster of faith-based and other community leaders; barber shops and hair salons, nonprofits, certified family recovery specialists, health organizations, and harm-reduction advocates. We can all learn from and support each other.

The “Connect 2 Protect” Campaign will provide both in-person and online opportunities for you to interact with other supporters, families, close friends and grassroots leaders who have been working on the frontlines for years. We’ll let you know about our family support groups, community events, recovery forums, and chances to talk with local experts about navigating the challenges that come with keeping a loved one in active addiction safe and then on the journey to and through treatment and recovery.

To address disparities and support equitable access, we need increased collaboration among funded County providers within our recovery/treatment community. A shift in the mindset, moving to a place of collaboration, rather than competition, will benefit County residents who have the most challenges in navigating what can be a complex and confusing system in order to get help.
